Good story, Not enough for a whole film

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

Blistering performances.

A thriller with only the occasional thrill and a plot which is by turns,humdrum, illogical and dull, with the odd bit of flashy cinematography which doesn't enhance proceedings. Jennifer Lawrence, Elisabeth Shue and Max Theriot do their best. Great song in the end credits, All In Forms by Bonobo.

It's not a masterpiece of cinema, but it's quite a solid thriller, with a touch of horror. And it isn't as predictable as it may seem to you at the beginning. For those who do not require the film to be superior (often unwatchable) art, but want to have fun with a solid thriller, warm recommendation.7,5/10

The movie was not as bad as a lot of other people say it is. The acting was decent from the two main actors Jennifer Lawrence and Max Theirot, and the story itself was well paced and contained a major twist.The cons of the film come from the plot holes including the part in the beginning where the child possesses unnatural strength to kill two adult which does not make sense. And why would the kid still live in the house his parents were killed? These are some of the few important questions that weren't fully explained. Some people may say the twist was cliché and predictable but for me, the performances and suspense built throughout the film compensated for it.

I'm not really a fan of horror films but I watched this anyway as I was round a friends house. I was pleased to find out that in the end it was more of a mystery/thriller rather than a horror. There was only really one scene that made me jump and that wasn't so bad.It's quite an atmospheric film with good suspense build up music throughout. The acting was OK overall, Jennifer Lawrence and Max Thieriot were both very good though. They had pretty good chemistry at the beginning and also done the more shocking scenes quite well.There are some pretty grim scenes but nothing too graphic, its mostly just atmospheric with a good twist towards the end. Nothing original but it was a decent enough movie to watch.7/10.
