Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

The Cheerleaders is a terrible movie. If you are reading this review, you must be interested in it for the camp value, or because it was made in the 70's.This is a very lowbrow comedy about a girl trying to fit in with the school cheerleading team by losing her virginity. There is a lot of sex and nudity. The main plot point involves the cheerleaders having sex with every member of the high school football team. This leaves the players too exhausted to perform in the big game, so to even it up, the girls find everyone on the opposing team and have sex with them as well.What allowed me to keep watching this all the way to the end was the 70's atmosphere. Yes, this is about as dumb as a movie can get, but it isn't like anything being made today.Similar recommendations: Gas Pump Girls and The Vals.

this movie get a '3' out of 10, or roughly 1/3, because there are 6 cheerleaders in this movie but only 2 are worth looking at, and that's 1/3. the two better chicks are the cheerleaders captain (denise dillaway), an attractive brunette with healthy natural breasts; and the dark girl (jovita bush), who has a rockin' body highlighted by magnificent nipples. but better still isn't great. none of these chicks would even qualify for the H.O.T.S. squad.two scenes stand out - the young virgin cheerleader (stephanie fondue, a plain Jane with a nice ass) has to go through initiation by showering in the boys' room and is caught. she has her towel ripped away from her naked, and is fondled at length. later, the cheerleader captain gets it from behind from the coach while his old game highlights play on tape in the background as if play by play of his conquest.but since the story is stupid, the sex situations clichéd, and the acting abysmal, the women at least need to be sexy and good looking and they're mostly not. if the cheerleader captain and the dark girl are a 6 on the 1-10 scale, to be generous there's a 5, two 4's and a 3 leftover. not a good ratio, even for exploitation fare.

Now you may know about this movie so let me tell you this is a fine movie to own on DVD all the bonus features are great.You have a funny commentary on all of them,TV spots and much more.They is no good music on the movies and it need some hot tracks but there is none.But the last cheerleader movie made by Jack Hill is maybe lame one out the pack. I wish some other director would had made that one.This is was the Porky's of the 70s, maybe one of the best movies of all time. So you need to get this.

This film was a precursor to the teen sex comedy genre that would become popular a decade later. However, the difference between this film and the latter films is that at least the kids that were in those films would go on to become some of the finest actors that would ever grace the silver and small screens. These bimbos probably think The Actors Studio is an apartment house in west Hollywood. Also, I'm surprised that this film didn't get an X instead of an R. I guess, the fact that no genitalia was shown saved it because there were enough bare breasts in this turkey to make even Russ Meyer blush.
