Osaka Yakuza War: The Price of a Misfire Trailers

In the winter of Showa 62 (1987), the muddy conflict between Japan's largest organized crime syndicate, the Kobe Yamagagumi, and the Seiwakai—commonly referred to as the "Yamasho War"—seemingly came to an end. Tadokura (played by Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi), a member of the Sakado-gumi under the Yamagagumi, spent his days consumed by relentless work, harboring unresolved emotions. Amidst this, Shimamura, the Sakado-gumi's second-in-command, is killed in a hitman's ambush. Little did they know that this brutal act would spark a bloody cycle of retaliation that would shake not only the Yamagagumi but also the entire Kansai yakuza world to its core. A complete cinematic depiction of this intense gangland war!

After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
