A collector's item for Luca Zingaretti fans, this gooey story of single parent guilt and redemption ends in weepy climax that includes a tracking shot above the old Maremma cattle town of Grosseto (pinching-hitting for Castiglione) with its candy-cane Duomo and arcaded piazza- almost, but not quite, worth the longwait. Good casting, harsh color, over-the-top score.
