An American Christmas Carol Trailers

In Depression-era New England, a miserly businessman named Benedict Slade receives a long-overdue attitude adjustment one Christmas Eve when he is visited by three ghostly figures who resemble three of the people whose possessions Slade had seized to collect on unpaid loans. Assuming the roles of the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future from Charles Dickens' classic story, the three apparitions force Slade to face the consequences of his skinflint ways, and he becomes a caring, generous, amiable man.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

There is definitely an excellent idea hidden in the background of the film. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find it.

This is a great movie. It has great acting. It also has a great story line. It also has great special effects. I am glade to see it got a 6.9. But still this is such a great movie that 6.9 is underrating it. This movie is a 9 out of 10. It is kind of spooky at time. A Christmas Carol (1951) is better. A Christmas Carol (1910) is also better. Scrooge (1935) is also better. But still this a great movie. It is one very good fantasy movie. See it. It is one of the best movies of all time. See this movie. I need more lines and I am running out of things to say A Christmas Carol (1938) is also better. But this is a great movie. See it.

'The Fonz' (Henry Winkler) is 'Slade', a Scrooge-like grumpy old landlord who likes to throw folks out of their homes in the dead of winter.Winkler is just OK in his role, featured here with an excessive amount of make-up so he'll appear to be 60 or 65 years old, though he looks like he's about 102. In the flashbacks depicting him as a young man, it's Susan Hogan as his past love named 'Helen' who shows the finest acting talents. Her performance is accompanied by beautiful Justine Till who portrays Helen as a young girl.Worthwhile version of Dickens' classic holiday tale.

This is by far the best adaption i have seen of scrooge even better than the musical version with Albert Finney in the title role.I have told various members of the family and friends about this film and they have thanked me for telling them about this brilliant film.I watch this at least five to ten times in December alone, I sometimes put it on through the year just to cheer myself up.As you may of guessed i love Christmas time of year and this film makes it extra special, would not have a Christmas without it. I love the way Henry Winkler plays the role of scrooge and no i wasn't really a happy days fan. Also the settings are excellent and the storyline as scrooge as some kind of carpenter instead of money lender also makes this film unique i just wish British TV would show it so more people over here could watch this brilliant film.

This is one of my top three Christmas movies of all time! I have a lot of friends who, after watching this for the first time, go net surfing to see if they can find it. (Is is very hard to locate!) The overall storyline is basically from the Dickens version but the setting in the depression era and the changes to the life events of the characters add a great twist to the plot. Henry Winker is great as "Mr Slade" and the supporting cast, although mostly unknown, do a really great job too. My only wish is that someone would re-edit this. Since it is a "made for TV" production, the commercial break points are evident and distracting. Add this to your Christmas movie list, you won't be disappointed! Three thumbs up! (OK, OK, two thumbs and a big toe ;)
