This documentary plays much more like Reality Show that could be called, "How Codependent Are You?" The people observed are genuinely ill in some way or another and they get little to no help or direction from Western medicine are are left to fend for themselves with mostly charlatan characters. Meanwhile, their care-givers wander minefields of eggshells trying to assist ill people who often feel desperate. It ends up with very codependent relationships where no one is getting their needs met. Cameras documenting these awful situations may be exacerbating the codependent dynamics and do not go unnoticed. Communication, therapy and new modalities, alternative and complementary medicine must be part of the equation for this and all patients. Illness doesn't always fit into a nice, little box. This film does nothing to further the conversation; it just makes everyone look a bit crazy.

As generic as vampire flicks get. You'd think that directors would figure out that if you want to make vampires scary, don't make them superheroes.

This movie is well written and builds to a ferocious climax. Everything about the movie enhances its central illusion: that we are looking at found footage that describes the turning of a vampire. I have never seen "found-footage" video used to better effect. The actors were unknown to me and thoroughly effective in their roles. The SFX are used with laudable economy, and the found-footage look only makes them more shocking. Be sure to watch all the way to the end.

I stopped watching this movie the first time around because it was soooooo boring and slow.Almost stopped watching it, again, but decided to stick it out. Glad I did, but that's only because the rest of the film wasn't as bad as the beginning. Vampires? Okay...at least they weren't emo. Pacing was still slow, but necessary. Clif's caring as he tried to help his ailing friend, was sweet, but if I heard, even once more, "are you okay?" after Derek did something stupid that any normal human wouldn't have been okay if they did, I was going to shut it off.An obvious budget, obvious means for serious filming...just a let down for what it should have...could have...been.Have a watch, give it a chance...but go in with LOW expectations. That way, if you're not as picky as I am (I'm an indie film maker too and would kill for a budget and means like this movie had) you'll probably enjoy it.
