It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.

Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.

There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

It had Teri Hatcher in it, which should have counted for something. Its premise was something like that of the current hit "Burn Notice." Yet somewhere, somehow, this show didn't have the writing or the cast or the network and time slot(s) that make its more recent twin a success. Maybe the formula had not been worked out right. An interesting difference between this show and "Burn" is that the hero of the current show does not know why he has been burned whereas there was no mystery about that in "The Exile." So it was an interesting premise, but somebody left something out, or phoned something in. (Which is a better setting? Miami or France? Depends on where in France, doesn't it?)
