Wow! Such a good movie.

Disturbing yet enthralling

One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.

A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.

The character "H" was allowed to do such terrible things in that room yet was allowed to come back in every time. I mean, he killed the terrorist's wife and no one batted an eye. And then the military run into a run that isn't even cleared like a bunch of dumb a**es. Like...really? That doesn't happen. Not to mention the soldier that pulled the picture off the wall, triggering a bomb at the mall. They literally said there could be traps everywhere. And in the end, the terrorists shoots himself (no big surprise there), there's the suspicion of a fourth bomb, but we don't know if the three bombs he mentioned were even real before the movie ended...waste of time...

{ SPOILER ALERT }So here's my review title: Like a very, very long joke with no punchline.The acting was terrific, the script was involving (VERY involving), the pacing was very tense.And then plop, it's over, without the largest question resolved.Now I'm sure deep people will rate it high because the point is to question our humanity and yadda yadda. But I don't go to movies for deep thoughts, as a rule. The movie put a big tense issue out there: bombs. Nuclear bombs.And it ends with complete irresolution.So maybe that was the point of the movie. Okay, then, mission accomplished. My review reflects MY feelings about the movie. And I felt like I sat through a very very long joke, with a terrific setup, where I really expected to laugh...and then the teller said, "Wellnow, would you look at the time? Gotta go." No punchline. And all my time sitting there, gone.One man's opinion. If you don't care, go for it. Up to that point, it's riveting.

This film tells the story of a terrorist who is caught for putting three nuclear devices in urban areas of USA. The government has only a few days to interrogate him where the bombs are, and the interrogators will stop at nothing to get information out of him.I thought "Unthinkable" is about the consequences of the three massive explosions, but it is more about the unthinkable methods used in the interrogation. The plot is very engaging and disturbing. The actors do such a convincing job, especially Martin Sheen and Samuel L Jackson. The maniacal atmosphere, and the horror of suffering is very palpable. I'm in awe of the plot, it truly is thrilling from the first second right until the last second. I can see why it struggled to find theatrical release in the USA, which is a pity as this well made thriller deserves a wider audience.
