Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
... View MoreI enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
... View MoreGreat example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
... View MoreClose shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
... View MoreThough slightly cheesy, this is probably THE ultimate seishun (youth love) film. "Houtai Club" is about a group of teenagers tying bandages around the city to heal emotional wounds for anyone who requests it in their website. Of course tying bandages in random places doesn't do anything, but it's true knowing someone cares do help. This film explores the idea that by healing and understanding other's pain, you can heal your own.I usually hate this kind of cheesy Utopian ideas, but it was presented extremely well. The story is very interesting and very well directed. I've seen Ishihara Satomi in many TV drama series, but this is by far her best performance (not to mention cute). Although I thought the 2-hour length was a bit too long for this movie and there were couple of cheesy lines, it was a great life-altering film.
