... View MoreBoogeymen: The Killer Compilation (2001) C-56 min. Well-made compilation of some of the most frightening movie slashers of our time. From Michael Myers, Jason Vorhees, and Freddy Krueger to Pinhead, Chucky, and Leatherface, this serves as a supplement to any horror/slasher fan's video collection. Unfortunately, some of the scenes they chose were not the best (there were far bloodier and scarier scenes in the Friday the 13th series than the one they chose from JASON GOES TO HELL) and they left out a few of the classic slashers (Santa Claus killer from SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT, Jack Frost, the Thomas Sinclair/Bryan Lawson brother/killer duo from the GLENVILLE films, the URBAN LEGEND killers, etc). But the `film' is more than adequate and provided me with a list of horror movies on my `must-see' list. Commentary on the DVD edition is done by none other than Robert Englund. RATING: 6 out of 10.
... View MoreThis compilation of the 'rogues gallery' of modern day movie monsters could have been better. Of course you've got the Big 4 (Freddy, Jason, Michael, and Leatherface) along with those of well-deserved honorable mention (Candyman, Chucky, Pinhead, and the Tall Man). As far as the Guardian, 'Ghostface', Fisherman and the others goes, they should've been left out. Why you ask? They're not considered cult classics to me. They're not in the same league with old school horror favorites. You mean to tell me that the producers and writers forgot about Pazuzu the demon from 'The Exorcist', Damien from 'The Omen', and the demon from 'The Evil Dead'? Also, they could've chosen a much better Jason Voorhees moment (of which there are many) instead of JGTH, which is his worst.Hope those guys do better with a sequel if they decide to do so.
... View MoreI mean, over all, they really can't go wrong with some of the classic horror movies: Halloween, Hellraiser, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Psycho. But they didn't show the best clips and some movies, you were either "I didn't see that" or "Huh, why did they put that in there?" They also missed some great classic horror movies, such as Jaws, The Exorcist, and Silence of the Lambs. I know that those aren't considered in some ways to be Boogeymen, but I think this was more of a tribute to horror movies. Also, they showed the worst clip of the Friday the 13th series, I thought they should have shown the 6th one where Jason slams the person in a sleeping bag against a tree, that was classic and terrifying. This wasn't too bad, but I mean, who really had heard of "The Guardian", "The Ugly", and not too many knew about "The Dentist". If you want to see this, I'd recommend the DVD, it has great commentary by Freddy Krueger, or as true horror fans know him as Robert Englund. It has trivia and trailers, and is must see for horror fans.6/10
... View MoreCan you name a movie that has Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers, Chucky, Leatherface, Pinhead, and more in it? I sure can, BOOGEYMEN!Although the movie is just a bunch of clips put together, it shows us that the 80's and early 90's rocked! They have taken the absolute BEST in horror and smashed it all together in one killer compilation! The best part about this movie is that it takes the best scenes from the best movies. The tagline "Nothing but the good stuff" is true indeed. If you own the DVD, there is animated trivia, name that frame, original Theatrical trailers, a DVD-ROM interactive horror trivia games, Legends, Audio Commentary, and many more extras put in, making this movie a great buy!The overall presentation of this film makes it an absolute horror fest! Its like seeing all the scary parts of movies, but not having to sit through many hours of storyline! The directors put the segments together in a good, fast paced order, and I especially love the audio commentary by Robert Englund (who played "Freddy Krueger"). Overall I give this movie ********(8) out of *********(10) stars! ALSO: If you watch the closing credits, "JACK FROST 2" is billed as being in the movie, yet it is nowhere to be found in the movie, strange...Those FlixMix people always keep me guessing, Great movie!
