Let's be realistic.

Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

A Jouney Home may be preachy at times and too religious for it's own sake, but it thugs the heart in many occasions. Fogiveness is the central theme of this movie. Soliman Cruz is seeking forgiveness not only from his son but also from his God and most of all, from himself. Acting chops from Cruz brings this movie forward, the rest of the supporting cast is so-so. There are a lot of dramatic moments. The best ones are the silent pain of Cruz, seeing his past mistakes. The religious theme might discourage others from finishing the movie though. Watch this if you are feeling the blues.I didn't view this in the movie, but the TV viewing is enough to say that its melodramatic theme will be good viewing some days, and other days, well, you might want to skip it entirely.
